As the academic year reaches its midpoint, members of the University of Baguio (UB) Top Management gathered for a productive Mid-Year Assessment Meeting to review the university’s accomplishments thus far and to begin the planning and preparation phase for the upcoming semesters. This meeting is an integral part of the university’s journey to ensure that its facilities and services are up-to-date and provide adequate support for the students and its other stakeholders.
Led by the Quality Assurance Office (QAO), the main discussion revolved around the Institutional Development Plan, also known as the IDP. This document serves as a strategic framework for the university, outlining the organization’s goals, priorities, and initiatives and how they affect the growth and improvement of the university. Thus far, the university has experienced steady and consistent growth, as evidenced by its progress in addressing the key areas of the IDP.

Several representatives from the different offices also delved into summative reports on the current state of the university’s infrastructure and its achievements. Among the discussions was a breakdown of the Student Development Plan, which saw a significant number of items accomplished while a good percentage remains to be implemented.
Among the offices that delivered their reports were the Management Information Systems (MIS) Office, Campus Planning and Development Office (CPDO), and Central Supply Room (CSR) also discussed the progress on improving the classrooms and laboratories, as well as the management involved in ensuring that these facilities are kept in good condition for student use. The Linkages Office also discussed its progress on the university’s Internationalization plan, which involved delving into the university’s different outbound and academic mobility programs as well as the university’s existing industry and academic partnerships.

Holding mid-annual assessments is essential to making sure that UB can properly grow and develop to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse student population. Through the identification of significant milestones and achievements, as well as points for improvement, the university can work efficiently and effectively toward its long-term objectives.
