University of Baguio Signs MOUs With Educational Partners in Thailand

University of Baguio signs Memorandum of Understanding with the College of Asian Scholars, College of Local Administration, and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University.

University of Baguio’s president, Engr. Javier Herminio Bautista, flew to Thailand on May 20, 2022 with other UB delegates to bolster the university’s connection with its partners in Thailand.

Accompanying the president on this trip were Dr. Janice Kaylyn K. Lonogan, Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Ms. Teresa N. Villanueva, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, and Ms. Melanie Rulla Saro, Director of the Linkages Office.

The UB delegates signed new Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with the College of Asian Scholars (CAS), Khon Kaen University – College of Local Administration (COLA), and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU).

Engr. Javier Herminio D. Bautista represented the University of Baguio in signing of all the MOUs while Asst. Prof. Dr. Kasom Chanawongse signed for the College of Asian Scholars, he is also the current president of CAS. The Khon Kaen University – College of Local Administration had Peerasit Kamnuansilpa, Dean of COLA, sign for them. Finally, Dr. Uraipan Janvanichyanont represented the Huachiew Chalermprakiet University; she is also the current president of the aforementioned university.

All MOUs gives the University of Baguio a chance to collaborate in research, participate in faculty and student exchange programs, share research publications, resources, and information. The MOUs also allows UB to come up with research programs with COLA and HCU.

Other than signing the MOUs, President Bautista also flew to Thailand to receive his honorary Doctorate Degree from the College of Asian Scholars. The UB delegates also got a chance to participate in some cultural immersion during the trip.
