UB SEA Signs Memorandum of Agreement with Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta

The University of Baguio School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) has officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta – Science & Technology, Indonesia in the spirit of fostering collaboration towards quality higher education and the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

The partnership, which was forged in accordance with SDG No. 17: Partnerships, aims to promote and foster programs geared towards cultural and academic exchange between the two universities. With the joint effort of the Linkages Office of the University of Baguio and Professor Gardyas Bidari Adninda and Professor Rhisa Aidilla from the Universitas Amikom Yokyakarta, the virtual MOA signing proceeded smoothly. 

UB President Javier Herminio Bautista signed the Memorandum of Agreement on behalf of the University of Baguio, while Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology Sudarmawan, S.T., M.T. represented the Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta.

As stipulated in the official memorandum, both parties shall engage in collaborative lectures, exchange of students and faculty, international internship programs, and collaborative research in Engineering, Architecture, and Urban Planning.

For the exchange of students in particular, the MOA states that both universities can send up to 10 students for short- or long-term exchange. The period for short-term exchanges is set at two to three (2-3) weeks, while long-term exchange is set at one (1) semester.

International exchange students will be able to enroll in the courses of Green Architecture and Digital Architecture for Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta, while exchange students to the University of Baguio will be able to enroll in ARSPEC11 and CADDAR33.

The MOA also seeks to promote and facilitate joint research activities that support both universities’ efforts to attain the seventeen (17) SDGs. 

Through this partnership, UB hopes to strengthen its relationship with Amikom University in the pursuit of quality education (SDG No. 4) and the building of empowered, globally competitive professionals.

The implementation of these collaborative programs is set to start on January 2024.
