The University of Baguio spared no effort in welcoming back its esteemed alumna, Ms. Tarah Valencia, as she returned for a grand homecoming on June 24, 2024. A decorated pageant queen, Ms. Valencia held a plethora of honorable titles, such as Ms. HRAB 2023 and 3rd Runner-Up for Miss Universe Philippines 2024. Her most recent venture, cinching the winning title for Ms. Supranational 2025, was the inciting event for her honorable return to her hometown. Her return was punctuated by a motorcade and a press conference hosted by the City of Baguio.
The welcoming party was led by UB President Engr. Javier Herminio Bautista, the President of the University of Baguio Alumni Foundation Inc. (UBAFI) Engr. Eleazer Demayo, the faculty members of the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (SIHTM), and a collection of students who were elated to spend such a momentous occasion with her. Also present during the event was the Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of the City Tourism and Special Events Division Engr. Aloysius Mapalo, representing the immense pride of the City of Baguio in Ms. Valencia’s achievements.
Ms. Valencia is an alumna of the University of Baguio’s School of IHTM, which she acknowledges as one of the major driving forces behind her success in the pageant circuit. Her time at the university had prepared her to be globally competitive, giving her an edge in the industry that has manifested itself into several honorable winning titles. Her continued success embodies the university’s pursuit of perfection, showcasing the competence and integrity ingrained into her from her time spent at the university.
