#GrowLeadThrive: Growing with Purpose, Leading with Character, and Thriving with Resilience through Career Pathing

Career Pathing Series 2026 is an initiative that offers suitable career guidance activities tailored-fit per year level. This event reinforces the university’s vision of producing graduates who excel not only academically but also in the skills, confidence, and adaptability needed in today’s evolving workforce.

An integral initiative of the University of Baguio, this program invites every learner to embrace uncertainty as opportunity, to value soft skills as career currency, and to carry forward a simple truth: careers are built not by perfect plans, but by purposeful choices made with courage and integrity.

A key highlight of the recorded webinar sessions focused on student’s life stage – whether they’re still exploring their options, planning their next step, or preparing for the world of work:

#GROW with Ms. Nathalie Marie De La Rosa, CHRP, a Senior HR Operations Analyst at Arch Global Services Inc., on first year students finding their place in their chosen field. Careers are rarely built through perfect plans but are built through adaptability was stressed.  She further emphasized that resilience often predicts success better than talent.

#THRIVE with Ms. Maria Angela Banaag, CHRA, an HR Assistant at Aliw Broadcasting Corporation, on second year students strengthening their skills and future careers. The speaker explained that the goal of being in college is partly to figure one’s self out. She further emphasized that it is not an important need to have everything figured out right now. Rather, students should be open to know themselves before they choose a career.

#LEAD with Ms. Chris Jamil Hertez, HR Head of the Manila Times College of Subic, on third year students’ professionalism and workplace collaboration. Mr. Chris informed the students that 70% of employers are now skill-based and that the most important soft skills most employers look for are teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. He gave the reminder that while a diploma gets us the interview, it is our professionalism that gets and keeps the job.

A promotional post from the official page of the Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD), the main proponent of the program.

Through activities like Career Pathing, the Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD) reaffirmed its commitment to empower students to become effective decision-makers and self-reliant individuals who can utilize their potentials in the service of others. More so, the activity algins with SDG 4 target 7. emphasizing the acquisition of knowledge and skills need to promote sustainable development; and SDG 17 target 17, encouraging and promoting partnerships.

#GrowLeadThrive reminds us that the career development of students is less a straight line than a living process—rooted in purpose, shaped by character, and sustained by resilience. By meeting students where they are—#GROWing through exploration, #LEADing through professionalism, and #THRIVing through self-awareness—the series translates the university’s vision into practice: producing graduates who are not only academically strong but adaptable, collaborative, and ready to serve.
