Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines — May 13, 2026. The PRISAA Sports Foundation Inc. proudly honored Mr. Jonel D. Sakiban with the prestigious Sports Excellence Award during the National PRISAA Games held in Bacolod City. This distinction recognizes his outstanding achievement in sports and his remarkable journey from a standout competitor to a steadfast guardian of the game.

Mr. Sakiban’s transition from being a dedicated athlete and coach to rising through the ranks of international officiating and serving as Athletic Director stands as a powerful testament to his character. His career reflects the truth that mastery in sports is not measured solely by victories on the playing field, but by the enduring commitment to uphold fairness, integrity, and the spirit of competitiveness.

As an ITTF Certified Blue Badge International Umpire and a leader in athletic administration, Mr. Sakiban has demonstrated that the essence of sports lies not only in performance but also in preservation—ensuring that every competition is guided by discipline, respect, and honor. His recognition by PRISAA underscores the values he continues to champion: that sports must inspire not only excellence in play but also responsibility in stewardship.

“This award is not just a personal milestone,” Mr. Sakiban shared, “but a shared triumph for the community I represent. True guardians of the game are those who dedicate themselves to nurturing athletes, safeguarding integrity, and advancing the noble spirit of sportsmanship.”
