The University of Baguio Science High School (UB SciHigh) made its mark on the regional stage as students brought home multiple top awards at BIOLYMPIA 2026: Interhigh School Biology Quiz Bee & Poster Making, organized by the UP Biology Society. Competing against 15 schools, UB SciHigh excelled across all four categories, proving that its students are not only exceptional in scientific knowledge but also in artistic expression.
In the JHS Quiz Bee, the team of Gabriel Timothy C. Abay, Harrier G. Basco, and Sophia Kristina Lucero secured 2nd Place, while Celine S. Kiat-ong, Ninna Andrea B. Lumpias, and Christian C. Rebosa claimed 2nd Place in the SHS Quiz Bee.

In the Poster-Making competitions, Juvi Sandrea F. Dizon won Champion for the JHS division, and Mary Dominique A. Sayaboc took top honors for the SHS division — a clean sweep of both creative categories that underscored the school’s multidimensional excellence and affirmed that SciHigh thrives as much in creativity and the arts as it does in academics.

Inspired by the spirit of the Winter Olympics, BIOLYMPIA 2026 celebrated both scientific rigor and artistic ingenuity, empowering students to channel their passion for biology through critical thinking and visual storytelling.
These accomplishments reflect UB SciHigh’s holistic commitment to education and resonate with multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education), which calls for inclusive, high-quality learning; SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), as students deepen their understanding of life sciences; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), as budding scientists and creative thinkers become tomorrow’s innovators; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), as schools and universities collaborate to elevate science education nationwide. As UB SciHigh continues to produce well-rounded, globally competitive learners, the school reaffirms its mission to develop individuals equipped not only to understand the world, but to improve it.
