The University of Baguio (UB) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to providing high-quality education through the successful completion of the reaccreditation and preliminary visits from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA), Inc.
Accreditation is a key process for educational institutions to ensure that their academic programs are competently meeting the standards and needs of the industry. Successful accreditations communicate a university or college’s competence to deliver on its goals and objectives to the community and boost its public and professional recognition. UB regularly applies for accreditation and reaccreditation to maintain the quality of its services. To date, the university proudly has thirty (30) accredited programs.

In February 2025, PACUCOA conducted preliminary and reaccreditation visits to nine different schools. The Bachelor of Engineering Technology (SEA), Bachelor of Physical Education (STELA), Doctor in Business Administration (Graduate School), and Kindergarten (UBLES) programs all underwent their preliminary visits and were subsequently granted candidate status, which will be effective for two years from April 2025 to April 2027. On the other hand, the Bachelor of Science in Architecture (SEA) – Accreditation Level II, Bachelor of Science in Psychology (STELA) – Accreditation Level II, Criminology (SCJPS) – Accreditation Level IV, Information Technology (SIT) – Accreditation Level II, and Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice with Specialization in Criminology (Graduate School) – Accreditation Level II, were all granted reaccredited status for five years, which will be effective from April 2025 to April 2030.
These distinctions were endorsed by the PACUCOA Board of Directors, with the current Chairman, Dr. Esther Vedaña, officially conferring the certificates and expressing her congratulations to the institution on April 8, 2025.
This milestone is also a part of UB’s ongoing efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals; it addresses the need for accessible and quality education (No. 4) and also facilitates the university’s partnerships with relevant institutions that can bolster its efforts to address the needs of the greater community (No. 17).
Congratulations to the University of Baguio and its hardworking Management team and faculty members for making this achievement possible! May the future be filled with more opportunities for educational excellence and success!
