The University of Baguio (UB) proudly participated in the much-awaited event “Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio,” which took place on February 9, 2025, at the Melvin Jones Grandstand. The University brought together all academic schools of the university to have a full representation of offerings and talents which made the UB booth stand out to the visitors.
This successful event was made possible with the help of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Supreme Student Council (SSC), who worked to make the event enjoyable for the people present. SEA and SIT skeleton crew helped in the booth’s creative designs and setup. Their mascots, SEA’s wonderful 5 headed dragon and SIT’s funny B.MO, were a hit among the audience. Adding to the fun, the SIT offered a free photo booth for all attendees, while SEA delighted guests with free face painting and buzz wire games, complete with biscuit prizes for winners. The School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (SCJPS) provided dedicated manpower and ensured the booth’s security and orderliness.

The School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) had a carnival theme with interactive games which included, “Pop the Balloons”, roulette and ring toss which had exhilarating rewards for the participants. The School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) provided smiles to children with their creative coloring books. The School of Natural Sciences (SNS) gave out complimentary blood typing together with some postural check-ups, whereas the School of Nursing (SON) did complimentary blood pressure checks and blood sugar levels monitoring, all in the spirit of educating the public on health issues.
OSA gave support by giving out free toys and snacks to the children to make the day more pleasant. Those who attended were mostly satisfied, and the booth received praise on the positive presentation of their activities.
Apart from the booth activities, UB students headlined the show through remarkable performances and singing by UB Voices, UBBUK, and UB Graces best representing the university’s multi-talented and creative community. Their performances did not only delight the audience but they also emphasized UB’s devotion towards the comprehensive development of its students.

While the SSC coordinated the booth activities with OSA, the SSC Publications was at the event to capture the unforgettable moments of the day. Their work reflects enthusiasm of the event.
The significance of UB’s participation in “Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilyang Baguio” is making innovations for building social or community relations. It was a day full of enjoyment, informative, and unforgettable events which almost firmly establishes the reputation of UB as a center of academic and community service activities.
