University of Baguio Explores Global Linkages at the World Education Expo (WEE) 2026

As a university committed to meaningful partnerships from the local level to the global arena, the University of Baguio further advanced its internationalization thrust by participating in the World Education Expo (WEE) 2026 organized by MSW Global and endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education–National Capital Region (CHED–NCR). Through this engagement, the university strengthened its role in promoting quality, inclusive, and globally connected education in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Dir. Melanie Rulla-Saro of the Linkages Office and Dir. Leny Estacio of the Center for Counseling and Student Development office (CCSD) represented the University of Baguio in the February 3, 2025 networking event at Dusit Thani Manila, Makati City. The morning session featured panel discussions on facilitating engagements between global educational institutions, students, parents, and school counselors; supporting international learning pathways; and enhancing cross-border access to quality education—key pillars of an SDG 4–responsive internationalization strategy.

Building connections with local and international participants was further emphasized during the exclusive networking lunch, where UB’s representatives explored potential partnerships for joint programs and collaborative initiatives. From these interactions, the University of Baguio leverages its international exposure and connections. In particular, the university strengthened its global presence through the B2B engagement sessions with partner institutions from Europe, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Malta, and Vietnam. These strategic collaborations are designed to expand the University’s international network and open pathways for UB Senior High School students to pursue study-abroad opportunities. At the same time, the University reaffirms its commitment to advancing global academic excellence through continued collaboration in faculty and student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and other innovative partnerships with Higher Education Institutions worldwide.
