Continuing its tradition of academic excellence, distinguished members from the University of Baguio bagged the First Runner-Up title at the 2nd Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET) Baguio-Benguet-Mountain Province (BBMP) Interlab Quiz Show, held on September 20, 2026, at the Baguio Water District Multipurpose Hall.
Representing UB’s School of Natural Sciences, faculty members Mr. Orly Ganotisi and Mr. Victor Gonzales, the defending champions, demonstrated their skills against teams from nine top academic and healthcare institutions in the region.
2nd PAMET BBMP: A Celebration of Learning and Camaraderie
The high-stakes event featured three intense rounds:
- Primary Round: SNS leaders from the university established a strong early lead, dominating alongside the Cordillera Hospital of the Divine Grace (CHDG) and Benguet Lab

- Intermediate Round: The competition tightened as representatives from UB, CHDG, and Notre Dame De Chartres Hospital (NDCH) fiercely contested the top spots, answering questions spanning Clinical Chemistry, Histopathology, Hematology, Medical Technology Laws, Blood Bank, Immunology, and Serology
- Clincher Round: In a thrilling conclusion, the university’s SNS faculty members went head-to-head against Saint Louis University’s Allied Health Biological Sciences (SLU-AHBS) representatives, with the rival university clinching the championship title
Beyond the intense competition, the 2nd PAMET BBMP event was a fruitful afternoon of professional networking, continuous learning, and camaraderie among medical technology practitioners and educators in the region.
