Advancing the cause of handing out accessible learning materials to the academic community, the University of Baguio Library Department recently conducted an online resources fair that brought together students, faculty members, and library partners to promote awareness and effective use of the university’s subscribed online academic resources. Through this endeavor, offering learning modules and tools to be used contributes to a refined approach that personalizes and improves teaching efficiency in diverse learning environments.

Conducted at the Centennial Library of the university, the active participation of the attendees was monitored through queuing or event tickets for registration, where they were encouraged to visit all exhibitor booths for stamping. Completed tickets qualified participants for the raffle draw, adding an interactive and engaging element to the fair.
Accessible resources for the Academic Community
Various online resource providers showcased their platforms and services during the event. With participating exhibitors coming from LIT Philippines (CuriosityStream), Book Network (Films on Demand and Learn360 K–12), Amathea (World Book Online), Serv Enterprises (J-Gate), EBSCO (Academic Search Complete, CINAHL, and BusinessSource), Forefront (e-books, Gale, Pearson, Wiley), and iGroup (ProQuest e-books and SAGE Research Methods). Representatives demonstrated features, shared best practices, and assisted users in navigating their resources for academic research and instruction.

The fair aimed to strengthen research culture and digital literacy within the university by familiarizing participants with reputable databases, e-books, journals, and multimedia learning platforms. Supporting the global initiatives expressed by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
- Goal 4 (Quality Education), ensuring inclusive and equitable access to quality learning resources and,
- Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), promoting the use of digital information systems in higher education
- Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), through esteemed initiatives and resources that provide academic assistance and peer-review committees with reputable research databases
Part of the initiative aims to create unrestricted access through legal licensing and subscriptions to reduce geographical barriers, providing a database that has been peer-reviewed, further promoting critical thinking and in-depth analysis for learners to tailor-fit their learning styles and preferences. Blending traditional (physical media) and digital engagements and alternatives for advanced knowledge attainment.
