As a new academic year dawns on the University of Baguio, ensuring that the employees are up-to-date with the various programs, activities, and policies of the university in time for the new semester is crucial to fostering a cohesive and well-prepared community. In line with this, the university held its annual General Assembly on August 6, 2024 at the Cardinals Gym, preparing its workforce for the incoming school year.

The General Assembly aims to inform all employees of updates on the previous academic year’s achievements, as well as to orient them on the progress of academic and non-academic institutional plans. This ensures that all members of the workforce are aware of the university’s progress in achieving its goals. The members of the university’s top management team gave a comprehensive overview of the university’s recent progress in working towards its goals.

This year’s assembly put a special emphasis on highlighting the university’s achievements in internationalization, such as its recently released positions in the Times Higher Education (THE) and World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) ratings. These updates are crucial for monitoring the university’s journey toward becoming globally competitive and internationally recognized.

Apart from progress updates, the heads of the different offices within the university also gave talks about their various services and functions. This served a dual purpose of introducing the new employees to the intricacies of the university while also refreshing old employees on the matter. This addressed the third and fourth goals of the assembly, which are to update all employees on UBFEWU matters and to introduce new members of the management team to all employees, if any.
Overall, the event was an enlightening one that brought all employees together and brought them up to speed with the university’s various functions and accomplishments for the previous school year.
