Environmental Conservation with International Involvements

The active involvement that stemmed from the efforts of the international Delegates from Jining Polytechnic University has also been commended, along with the guidance and support of the international affairs unit and other notable staff members from the Linkages Office. Having the delegates rummage effortlessly through the initiative and help out, and contribute to the overall success of the implementation of UB’s biodiversity plans and strategies.

The delegates from JPU have expressed their joyous effort that led to essential contributions that take care of the vicinity’s ecosystem. Ensuring that the planted seedlings that would soon grow into strong and resilient trees past and upcoming years will go along with the test of time, turning the land’s biodiversity into a habitat that will flourish for the next generation to continue preserving and maintaining for a better life on land ahead.

Sustainability measures and practices have been at the forefront of the University of Baguio. Continuing the streak to enhance life, advancements, and serving as inspiration through academic and organizational development through stewardship and invaluable support, purpose, and care.

UB’s Environment Initiatives and Local Government Partnership

The activity was also made possible thanks to Mr. Nelson Salvino and Ms. Jamilyn Suma-al of the Baguio Water District – Watershed Section, who extended their invaluable support by guiding participants as they tend to the area with shared purpose and care.

Made possible through the endearing efforts and support given by Mr. Nelson Salvino and Ms. Jamilyn Suma-al of the Baguio Water District – Watershed Section, the clearing happened at parts located at Busol Watershed (boundary between Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet).

The collective effort of the sustainable land management practices proved to be successful thanks to the active involvement of volunteer offices, students, teaching, and non-teaching staff from the University of Baguio.

The effort brought by measures that contribute to environmental care, extending and preserving the voluntary practice that yields lifelong commitments, directly contributes to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) numbers 4 (quality education) through community learning and involvement, 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), on maintaining green spaces for a livable co-shared ecosystem, 13 (climate action), through efforts that raise public awareness on land and water conservation

Meanwhile, SDG number 15 (Life on Land) shares and implements tactics on biodiversity measures that ensure long-term health of natural ecosystems, and lastly 17 (partnerships for the goals), which translates to the active involvement and collaboration with the local government units to develop and find optimal practices for environmental care and sustainability.

Championing Biodiversity for a resilient Environment Ahead

As the last leg of RIECO’s Project Gr.O.O.M M.E. Season III sees the limelight, the activity championed in volunteerism and stewardship for the institution’s 2025 collective environmental action measures (alongside other related and ongoing initiatives), we remember the symbolization of growth and renewal that goes beyond the practice of weeding and seed planting.

The University of Baguio commends the efforts and will continue to spearhead biodiversity-led projects down the course of time to remind the community that continuous care and maintenance are essential for a resilient ecosystem, built on healthy development and collaborative efforts in both local, national, and international perspectives and goal-setting.
