Leading with Purpose in Higher Education Settings
Held on April 7 to 8, 2026, at the Admirals Events Place Center in Lamtang, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet, the event processions comprised activities and leadership events designed to strengthen data harmonization and help higher education institutions turn information into a strategic tool for planning, policy-making, and SDG-aligned reporting. The Commission on Higher Education-Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) endorsed and facilitated the event, which produced topics and discussion points highlighting how schools can better map, produce, interpret, and use their data for institutional development.
Further into the details, the two-day event, seen with the participation of UB’s leading deans and directors (among other notable departmental and managerial leaders), started with a presentation of the statement or aim of the fellowship, followed by panel talks on data preparation for the Cordillera, research innovation, industry-academic partnerships, and the regional higher education data ecosystem. The afternoon lectures focused on global visibility and data preparation, specifically in relation to local figures and transparencies stemming from the Cordillera.
On the second day, registrars, student affairs officers, scholarship coordinators, Gender and Development (GAD) focal individuals, planning officers, and CHED Internalization (IZN) point of contact (POC) individuals participated in parallel sessions and specialized talks. A unity dance and the adoption of a manifesto marked the event’s conclusion, signifying the unified dedication of the several higher education institutions (HEIs) represented.
