On October 23, 2026, student representatives from the University of Baguio‘s School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) Community Outreach and Extension (COE), in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) team, initiated the Negosyo Ready 2026, an outreach seminar cum consultation aimed at helping aspiring and existing entrepreneurs understand business registration, renewal, and compliance requirements.
The initiative provided interested participants from the UB-adopted Pinsao Proper Barangay, business owners from General Luna Barangay, and the academic community with access to business outreach and related information, government assistance, and referral services at the UB Centennial Hall and the UB Multi-Level Parking Lot.

Engagement and active participation came from one hundred fifty-six (156) participants, comprising fifty-one (51) seminar attendees, nineteen (19) individuals registered through the public assistance and referral desks, and thirteen (13) government agency representatives. The initiative successfully brought together representatives from various key agencies, including:
- Department of Trade and Industry–Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR)
- Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)–Baguio
- Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)–CAR
- Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)–Revenue District Office (RDO) 8
- Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO)–Baguio
- Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Baguio
After an introduction given by Dr. John V. Balanquit, SBAA Dean, the program then focused on business registration and regulatory compliance, featuring insightful presentations and interactive discussions with representatives from key government agencies. Key speakers included Mr. Peter D. Allem (DTI), Mr. Jan Aris B. Trinidad (SEC), Mr. Marvin Bisares (CDA), a BFP representative, Ms. Camille M. Ormillo (BPLO), and CPAs Jessa G. Rebaldo and Jessabel T. Tade (BIR). Each agency-led segment included Q&A sessions, the presentation of certificates of appreciation, concluding remarks, and final announcements.
The endeavor included the Business Blueprint Seminar at the Centennial Hall, featuring presentations on proper business registration procedures, timely renewal, and compliance requirements across key government agencies. Running alongside it from the multi-level parking lot was the Public Assistance and Referral Desk, which provided direct service to first-time registrants, established businesses seeking renewal, and those with compliance inquiries

Along with the SBAA Junior Association of Marketing Executives (JAME), the event sought the appearance of business registration assistance and referral desks, setting up seven tables for the invited government agencies, plus a registration desk, a medical assistance desk, and a legal referral desk, tying all together with stalls selling snacks and drinks. Registrants and attendees could jumpstart registrations, consultations, and other medical assistance services.
Through this initiative, the institution actively translates its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) into real-world action, championing inclusive community development across the following key goal areas:
- SDG 1: No Poverty – by providing registration assistance and referral desks alongside structured participant guides through the Business Blueprint Seminar
