2026 UBLES Leadership Training Seminar: Young UBian Leaders’ Voice and Mind with a Purpose

Young UBian Voice and Mind: 2026 UBLES Leadership Seminar

On September 18, 2026, the University of Baguio, through the Laboratory Elementary School Department and the Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD), conducted the Leadership Training Seminar 2026 at the UBLES Quadrangle. In collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Supreme Pupil Government (SPG), the activity brought together 70 student leaders and representatives from Grades 3 to 6 to strengthen leadership grounded in values, responsibility, purpose, and service.

The seminar was conducted in two parts, each designed for a specific group of young leaders and guided by a distinct theme. Before the sessions began, Ms. Diana Lyn Tamayo, Assistant Principal of UBLES, led the oath-taking ceremony for each part, allowing the student leaders to affirm their commitment to their responsibilities and the values expected of a UBian leader.

UBians Lead with Purpose and Dedication

Ms. Alicia D. Rivera, MAEd, SPG Adviser, led the first portion of the seminar for the officers of the Supreme Pupil Government (SPG) with the theme “This is OUR VOICE: Young UBian Leaders with Purpose.” Emphasizing that leadership is more than just holding a position. It includes serving others, acting responsibly, listening to others, showing respect, and using one’s influence to bring about positive change within the school community.

Ms. Eubelle Agpes, RPm, a graduate of the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School, led the second section, which was intended for classroom officers from Grades 3 to 6 and had the theme “The Mind of YOUNG UBIAN LEADERS: Defining our Purpose.”

The session aimed to help classroom officers understand their role, duties, and impact in their classes. It reaffirmed the significance of cooperation, kindness, discipline, accountability, respect, and service as fundamental traits of young UBian leaders.

The two-part Leadership Training Seminar reflects UBLES-CCSD’s continuing commitment to developing young leaders through structured, values-based learning experiences. Through this annual initiative, UBLES continues to nurture young leaders who understand that leadership is not simply a position but a responsibility to serve with purpose, act with integrity, and contribute positively to the school community.
