University of Baguio to host San Antonio Officials to deepen international partnership

The University of Baguio (UB) will be hosting delegates from San Antonio, Texas, USA during a diplomatic visit to the City of Baguio this coming February 23, 2025. The trip is a part of the efforts of both cities to bring the communities closer and to bolster opportunities for growth in selected fields such as education and athletics.

Spearheading the event is Baguio Mayor Hon. Benjamin Magalong, who will be working alongside other officials from the local government to ensure that the visit will be a success. On the other hand, San Antonio City Mayor Hon. Ron Nirenberg will be leading the foreign delegation and will be arriving alongside representatives from the University of Texas. Also to be present during the visit is the Cabsat Education Committee.

The visit aims to enhance sports diplomacy engagement between the cities, as well as to facilitate the turnover of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) between UB and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). The latter is the product of a previously established Friendship Agreement between the sister cities, which had the goal of fostering collaboration in different societal sectors such as education and cultural exchange.

As UB welcomes the esteemed delegates, this diplomatic visit marks another milestone in strengthening international partnerships. Through this initiative, the University of Baguio reaffirms its commitment to global engagement, paving the way for global academic excellence and future international opportunities.
