UB Science High School SPG now registered as an official organization under the National Youth Commission

Other Posts

The University of Baguio Science High School (UB SHS) reached another remarkable milestone after its Student Parliamentary Government or SPG officially became a registered organization under the National Youth Commission (NYC). Following their registration through the Youth Organization Registration Program, or YORP, the organization was officially recognized by the NYC and can now enjoy the benefits of being a valid member for the next three years.

What is YORP?

The YORP is a program that aims to unite youth and youth-serving organizations under the same banner so that they can access and participate in programs initiated by the National Youth Commission.

What are the benefits of being registered under the NYC?

Through their registration, affiliated organizations gain access to exclusive free training and will be prioritized when selecting representatives for events, international programs, and youth consultations, among other benefits.

The SPG is an integral part of campus life with the UB SHS. It allows students to hone their leadership and governance skills and fosters a sense of justice and integrity that they will continue to nurture until long after they’ve graduated. This milestone is not just a triumph for the school itself, but for the student leaders and their mentors that have worked hard to make this ambition a reality.

Congratulations to the UB SHS Student Parliamentary Government!
