At the February flag ceremony, the University of Baguio recognized the exceptional performance of its athletes at the recently concluded Palarong Panlungsod. Over a hundred athletes participated in the event, garnering an array of accolades for their hard work.
Starting in the Elementary division: Marga Estelle Aguirre and Renee Scarlette Somentac secured the title of Champion in the Badminton Doubles event, while Caeleb Wade Brown garnered two Gold medals for the Muaythai – Waikru and Mai Muay events. Stephen Gabrielle Tambalo also secured a gold in the Muaythai Mai Muay event, while Jamella Jareau Crane Mabanglo took home the gold for the Taekwondo Individual Poomsae Girls, with Winter Scarlet Abuan taking home a silver medal in the same category. Rounding out the elementary division were Kyla Nicole Takinan and Keleah Blaire Yap, who secured a gold medal in the Taekwondo Kyorugi (Sparring) Girls event.

Kicking off the Secondary division: the Archery Team – composed of Amielee Iva Belarmino, Chloe Jenna Frogozo, Trisha Mendoza, and Madelaine Sagmayao – secured a silver medal in their event. In the Athletics event, Jannah Loraña secured two silver and two gold medals, Mecca Loraña secured two gold and one silver medal, Leishen Kate Masangkay secured three silver and two gold medals, and Xyndrex Chris Orinion secured five gold medals in their respective events. Still under Athletics, Ashley Nicole Padawil earned two silver medals for her event, while Mark Tudas earned one bronze and one gold medal, Rhain Chantal Ayesha Viado earned two gold and one bronze medal, and Sofia Olpindo earned a bronze medal in their respective events.
Moving on to the Badminton Singles Boys, Keith Jefferson Rivera emerged as Champion, while Nestor Jear came in as 1st Runner-Up in the same event. For the Doubles Boys, Francis Josh Ching and Roman Chrystoff Cruz secured the 1st Runner-Up spot. Mariianne Isabelle Orallo was the Champion for the Singles Girls event, while Jewel Ann Cabillon earned the 2nd Runner-Up title for the same event. Rounding out the badminton events were Janina Cabillon and Castiel Wince Joy Barawid, who ranked 2nd Runner-Up in the Doubles Girls event.

Moving on to the Basketball event, the 5×5 Boys Team – consisting of Tayshann Reid Abaya, Aeron Antalan, Yuri Shajid Banza, Raj Castillo, Kurt Zedrick De Vera, Caleb Delos Santos, Ethan Rudolf Marx Elinger, Jan Zyrich Gundran, Travis Jainar, Xianty Rayne Mariano, Josh Allen Neries, Istvan Noah Puyawon, Matthew Greg Rimando, Kenny Lloyd II Salvador, Tristan Jero Tejano, Robert Gabriel Dizon, Jairo Anjelo Gupaal, Jian Carlo Llorente, and Zea Ruzelle Manuyag – secured the 1st Runner-Up Spot.
In the 5×5 Girls event, the team – consisting of Jal Cadio, Betty Gabrielle Carl Libao, Precious Buswilan, Jerniela Jeanne Gomze, Princess Diane Absurda, Yaffa Iscez Duyan, Johanna Katrina Gorospe, Sophia Marie Guillermo, Loureen Habbiling, Jerzenne Madison Modares, Danice Ann Sumangen, Nicole Lunag, Daenna Xryszle Tabat, Jerniela Jeanne Gomze, and Elise May Gonzales – emerged in the 2nd Runner-Up spot. The 3×3 Girls Team also garnered the 1st Runner-Up spot through the efforts of Jerniela Jeanne Gomez, Precious Buswilan, and Elise May Gonzales.

In the Lawn Tennis event, Christian James Bunag earned gold in the Singles Boys event, while Christian James Bunag and Samiel Colingan also earned gold in the Doubles Event. Angela Melendres likewise secured gold in the Singles Girls event.
For the Muaythai events, Edil Ali Ngina and Yzrielle Baniqued earned gold in the Waikru category, while Jheter Focasan, Arman Malhi, and Clark Fattit earned gold for the 60 kg, 54 kg, and 48 kg Combat events respectively. On the other hand, Charlwynne Bannagao, Jonna Mae Manipon, and Vigo Dangiwan earned gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively in the Pencak Silat event.
Moving on to the Taekwondo events: the gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Individual Poomsae Girls event were secured by Angel Lyn Yvainne Dacanay, Chizka Nicolette Luzadas, and Joniya Yua Ysabelle Obiacoro, while in the Boys event Jonas Sales, Cye Guiller Evangelista, and Ryan Clifton Nabejet won the same set of medals. In the Kyorugi (Sparring) Girls event, the team – consisting of Rihannah Kate Caguioa, Ashley Diaz, Thalia Ken Takinan, Rina Venice Maltizo, and Zyra Allyson Lee – secured gold, with Aisha Jeanna Garcia securing silver in the same event. For the Boys event, the team – consisting of Jacob Antonn Erece, Joshua Aaron Erece, Aithan Raphael Ogoy, Jun Adrian Wagtingan, Matt Rejhan Lavestre, Cyron Chad Chumawid, and Chris Levi Culallad – also secured gold. Joey Jones Cullallad and Vince Lonogan earned silver, and Rolyn Matthew Salay and Ian Rei Lonogan earned bronze, all under the same category.

Finally, for the Table Tennis event: Richard Nixon Rivera, Roshan Joah Catbagan, and Justine Jonathan Rover clinched the gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively for the Boys event. Meanwhile, Guia Vonne Zate and Leigh Angeli Colyong earned the gold and silver medals for the Girls event.
The outstanding performance of these athletes at the event would not have been possible without the keen guidance of the Athletics Office and their coaches, as well as the support of their friends and family. Their participation in events like Palarong Panlungsod is a testament to their skill and determination, and their accomplishments reflect the years of hard work that they have put into mastering their craft.
