UB Student Racer Set to Participate in Malaysia Championship Series

Other Posts

With his sights set on Malaysia, Iñigo Anton proudly returns to the University of Baguio toting three distinguished trophies from his exhilarating races in Formula V1 and Taipei.

Last year’s Radical Championships for Formula V1, the pinnacle of racing in the Philippines, concluded in high spirits with Mr. Anton proudly garnering the title of Overall Champion. On the other hand, last week’s Taipei International Gymkhana Prize 2024 also yielded stunning results, with Mr. Anton and his team garnering 3rd place overall in the Solo Division and 5th place in the Team Doubles category. He and his team fought hard against fifty (50) drivers from sixteen (16) nations all over the world, coming up with a stellar victory.

His next endeavor is the Malaysian Championship Series, which will be taking place on May 4 and 5, 2024. He will be competing with his team, Axle Sports, under former F1 driver Alex Yoong.

Mr. Anton’s exceptional performance at his endeavors is indicative of his passion and skill, as well as his dedication to his training – an aspect of his life that he dutifully balances alongside his studies and personal life. He never neglects either parts of his life, a careful balance that the university is proud to be able to support.

“I’m thankful that the University of Baguio allows us athletes to be able to balance our education at the same time (as) our sports. It’s very important for every athlete to keep on doing well in their education and putting time into it at the same time (as) doing well in our sports.

As long as we can keep that school and sports balance, I’m really grateful that I’m able to do it here in the University of Baguio. So I’m hoping also that other athletes who want to pursue their passion can also do the same here in UB.”
