UB Establishes Partnership with CJHL Inc.

The University of Baguio, The Manor, and the Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay have sealed a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) geared towards forging a strong collaboration between the hospitality sector and the academic community.

The MOU solidified a collaboration on Academic Support, Recruitment and Job Placement, Student Internship and Immersion Programs, Extension and Community Outreach Programs, and Attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals through joint programs and projects.

UB and Camp John Hay Leisure Inc. (CJHL Inc.) have been partners for over a decade, offering immersion programs for faculty and students under the Business, Hospitality, and Tourism programs. The MOU marks the expansion of the collaboration to more extensive programs and projects, aiming to provide more learning opportunities and professional development for its employees through the graduate school programs and Expanded Tertiary and Equivalency Program (ETEEAP) of the university

Through the MOU, UB is committed to providing CJHL Inc. employees with academic support through a Master’s in Business Administration Program and through the ETEEAP catered towards non-degree holders. The university also pledges to facilitate continuous professional development for the managers of CJHL Inc. by providing seminars, workshops, and training.

CJHL Inc. also committed to opening its doors to UB students and allowing them to make use of the company’s facilities for their student internships and immersion programs.

Through this forged partnership, both CJHL Inc. and UB dedicate themselves to providing quality education and promoting decent work and economic growth within the community of Baguio through continued collaboration and cooperation.
