UB Frolics 2024: A Breathtaking Display of Talent and Skill

UB Cardinals Gym – Students from the different schools of the University of Baguio filled the Cardinals Gym on April 5, 2024 to witness the stunning display of talent and skill that was the eagerly anticipated Frolics: UB Got Talent.

A special competition held every five years, Frolics is a talent show that aims to foster friendly competition and provide a platform to showcase the talents and skills of the university’s employees. Whether it’s singing, dancing, acting, or everything in between, Frolics is the perfect avenue to unleash the creativity and passion of the esteemed employees of the university.

A total of thirteen (13) groups from the different schools and offices of the university performed at the event, putting on rousing performances that gripped the audience and drew deafening cheers and applause from the students. From dance routines to skits backed with live music, the employees put on a wide variety of productions that made for a lively and entertaining event.

Of the thirteen groups that participated in the competition, only three (3) garnered a spot on the podium, securing a coveted award and a cash prize to commemorate the effort and time they put into their performances. Coming in at 2nd Place was the School of Nursing (SN) and the Risk Management Office (RMO), and in 1st Place was the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) and the Library Department. 

The Champion of the event was the School of Natural Sciences (SNS) alongside the Vice President for Academic Affairs Office and the Medical and Dental Clinic. The group wowed everyone with their captivating rendition of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, garnering the highest overall score across the board and deeming them this year’s reigning winners.

The university warmly congratulates all the employees who went out of their way to spend the time and effort to craft a compelling production number that showcased their passion and skill in the performing arts. Their continued participation in events like Frolics supports the university’s pursuit of nurturing a fun learning environment, ensuring that students have the means to have a good time both within and outside of the classroom.
