Baguio City, May 22, 2025 — The Student Parliamentary Government (SPG), in collaboration with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Baguio City Council, turned over donations to support the development of the S.P.A.C.E.S. (Shaping Potential Areas for Community, Education, and Sustainability) Learning Hub and e-library at San Luis Village.

The initiative aims to establish a dynamic learning space that integrates technology, creativity, and environmental awareness to enhance educational access and engagement for students in the community.

The turnover event was led by SPG officers Reign Villegas (Prime Minister) and Danielle Abarientos (Local Government Minister), with support from Tom Iric Donato (External Affairs Minister), Sheanne Cabantac (Finance Minister), Charles Sia (Deputy Finance Minister), and Loraine Chantelle (Visual Artist). The project was coordinated under the guidance of SPG advisers Jerrel Panayo and Dean Marc Aguado, as well as GSP Coordinator Maria Alma Cabuñag.

Among the items turned over were:

  • 33 potted plants to create a greener and more inspiring environment
  • A box of children’s fiction books to encourage reading and imagination
  • Five computer monitors to equip the e-library and support digital learning

Throughout the day, volunteers, including students, faculty, and community members, worked together to transport, organize, and install the donations, demonstrating a strong spirit of service and cooperation.

The S.P.A.C.E.S. project seeks to enrich educational experiences while promoting values such as leadership, generosity, and environmental stewardship. Organizers expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed and emphasized the importance of sustained community involvement.

With the learning hub and e-library beginning to take shape, San Luis Village is one step closer to providing an inclusive, modern, and student-friendly educational space for its youth.
