Technology is in a constant state of evolution, shifting alongside the needs and wants of an ever-changing world. As the future fast approaches, the development of technology has reached a juncture that presents a critical challenge: adapt and survive, or be left behind.

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is one of the many emerging fields of technology that is currently taking the world by storm. From smart assistants like Alexa and Siri to autonomous vehicles and smart devices that can power entire homes, AI is slowly but surely integrating into aspects of life that are taken for granted every single day. It is only a matter of time before they integrate into the workplace, becoming a high-powered tool that increases efficiency and productivity.

As an institution dedicated to preparing students for their future careers, the University of Baguio is nothing if not dedicated to ensuring that its students are equipped with the necessary skills to navigate the workplace with ease. Exploring the intersection of work and AI is a means to better prepare the university’s students to become the next generation of professionals. Through a seminar entitled, ‘AI Ascendancy in the Dynamic Employment Landscape: Urgency in Soft-Skills’, the university delved into the intricacies of AI in the workplace and what it means for the students who will be entering the workforce in the near future.

The seminar hosted two exceptional speakers, Mr. Christopher Peralta and Mr. Dennis Franco Layug, who both gave enlightening talks on the subject matter.
