The 2025 National Archery Championships ended in high spirits for the University of Baguio Cardinals. Held in Barangka, Marikina last January 23-26, 2025, the tournament saw participants from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, gathering top archers from all over the country and allowing them to showcase their skill and tenacity.
From the UB Team, Alon Yuan Jucutan participated in two events: the age group category of under 21 (u21) compound men and the open division compound men championships. He dominated the u21 division, securing both gold medals in the qualification round and Olympic round and defeating the representatives from the University of the Philippines and Bacolod City for the podium matches. Meanwhile, in the open division, Jucutan secured a silver finish in the qualification round, scoring a high 694 and placing 2nd next to national team archer Paul DeLa Cruz who finished with a score of 697.
In total, Jucutan brought home two gold medals and one silver in the 2025 National Archery Championships. He is currently in deep preparation for the first leg of the 2025 Asia Archery Cup, which will be taking place in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16,24, 2025. He will be representing the Philippines in the tournament series as the youngest member of the Philippine National Team for compound archery.
