The University of Baguio, spearheaded by the Risk Management Office (RMO), held a training session focused on First Aid Training with Basic Life Support for the UB Emergency Response Team (ERT) to equip the team with essential first aid and BLS skills that can help them better manage emergency situations.
The training session played an integral role in ensuring that the team members are able to respond immediately and deliver appropriate medical care in critical circumstances. The session covered theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, allowing them to learn and practice the proper execution for skills such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), choking management, and proper wound care.

In collaboration with the Move R87 Agency, three speakers were invited to share their expertise. Mr. Stephen Atos, Mr. Alex Fernandez, and Mr. Danny Yagyagen imparted integral knowledge on the subject, emphasizing the importance of situational awareness, accuracy in execution, and composure under pressure. Their guidance provided invaluable hands-on experience, preparing participants to respond swiftly and efficiently during emergencies.
During the training session, a simulated emergency scenario was conducted to help participants apply their skills in a realistic setting. The exercise involved a collapsed building, with victims being trapped and unconscious and requiring immediate medical attention. The team members were tasked with assessing the situation, providing first aid, and performing CPR. They were also charged with stabilizing and transporting them to the nearest medical station for further treatment.

Through these initiatives, UB continues to uphold its dedication to maintaining the safety and well-being of its students and employees. The continuous development of the Risk Management Office and the Emergency Response Team ensures that it can maintain its role in upholding campus safety, preparedness, and emergency response at the university.
