CHED Opens Up Proposal Submissions for Grants-In-Aid 2025 Funding

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has announced that that they have opened the grant applications for the Research, Innovation, and Extension Grants-In-Aid Program for 2025 Funding. The GIA Program is geared towards building a comprehensive portfolio for higher education strategic research and extension through collaborative programs and projects among Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The GIA Program covers six (6) thematic areas/ platforms:

  1. Education for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agri/Fisheries, Mathematics)
  2. Environment, Disaster Prevention, Climate Change, and Energy
  3. Terrestrial and Marine Economy: Biodiversity and Conservation
  4. Smart Analytics and Engineering Innovation
  5. Health Systems
  6. Food Production and Security

The program also provides a competitive enable grant with the following amounts:

  • Maximum of Ten Million Pesos (Php 10M) for one (1) year research program/project
  • Maximum of Two Million Pesos (Php 2M) for one (1) year extension program/project

Both faculty and non-teaching employees under the supervision of their adviser are encouraged to submit their research proposals. Beyond being an opportunity to expound the boundaries of academics and education, it is a great chance to be able to make a significant impact on the members of the greater community.
