The University of Baguio (UB) remains steadfast in its mission to provide balanced, high-quality education that equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. As part of this commitment, UB continuously applies for accreditation to ensure that its academic programs meet industry standards and global benchmarks.

Accreditation ensures that the key areas of the university – including Governance, Leadership and Management, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Quality of Professional Exposure, Research, and Creative Work, Support for Students, and Relations with the Community – remain fully functional and adhere to national and international standards.

Currently, thirty (30) of UB’s programs are accredited by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA, Inc.). To further strengthen its commitment to providing balanced quality education, the university once again underwent another round of accreditation on February 11 to 12, 2025. During this period, four programs underwent preliminary accreditation, four others underwent their first reaccreditation, and one program underwent its second reaccreditation.

During the closing conference, the PACUCOA team, headed by Chairman Dr. Esther B. Vedaña, commended the university for its excellent performance and hospitality. They highlighted the strengths of the university’s programs, such as their hardworking faculty members and the accessibility and functionality of the different facilities like the school libraries and the classrooms. They also raised points for improvement in certain areas, such as learning equipment, which will be used as points for further improvement down the line.

Overall, the event was a rousing success. Through the combined efforts of the UB Management Team, faculty, non-teaching staff, and students, UB was able to garner several commendations from the accreditors. Although there is room for growth, this marks a significant milestone in the university’s journey towards becoming a nationally and globally recognized academic institution.
