The University of Baguio’s School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety conducted a free webinar that aims to educate its criminology students on the current trends in industrial security.
Though aimed specifically for UB’s criminology students, the webinar was also opened to others who were interested in the topic. The free webinar was conducted via Zoom and was also livestreamed on UB SCJPS’s Facebook page. The webinar happened on April 23, 2022 from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm.
Hon. Warren M. Corpuz, PRB for criminologists, was invited to be the guest speaker for the webinar.
In his lecture, Hon. Warren Corpuz centered around security, the service rendered for it, its importance to the whole industry, and the different trends and current practices being conducted in it as well.
Sir Corpuz went into detail when discussing all these, giving specific examples, explaining the different terms and definitions, examining the different concepts around the trends and practices, and highlighting security administration, operations and management, and new dimensions in industrial security.
He also discussed the duties and responsibilities of the different roles (like security manager) under security management, what each of these roles do, their importance, and their part in the whole system.
He also gave the details of writing a security policy, security operations procedure, integrated security systems and its components, and developing and implementing a security plan.
Certificates of attendance were sent via email after the webinar and after the attendees accomplished the survey for the said activity.
