University of Baguio Chosen as an Awardee for First Responder School Awards

The University of Baguio (UB) has recently been recognized as one of the awardees for The First Responder School Awards. This prestigious award celebrates schools that have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and best practices in promoting mental health at work. The award is given specifically to schools whose faculty have completed the Certified Mental Health First Responder Coach Program with the Emotional Reset Center.

UB is proud to announce that two of its clinical instructors, Ms. Nellie Rillera De Vera and Ms. Kate Banwa, have successfully completed the program within 6-8 months. This accomplishment not only demonstrates their dedication and commitment to promoting mental health but also underscores UB’s emphasis on fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

The Certified Mental Health First Responder Coach Program is an evidence-based training program that equips individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide immediate support and assistance to those experiencing mental health crises. This program covers a range of topics, including mental health literacy, crisis intervention, and self-care strategies. The program is designed to help individuals identify and respond to signs of distress and offer support and resources to those in need.
