From basic elementary education all the way up to the collegiate level, graduation rites are a significant milestone in the academic career of every student. It marks their growth as individuals, highlighting their efforts and dedication to receiving an education and furthering their knowledge and experience.
This May and June, the University of Baguio celebrates the students of Batch 2024 who have taken to the stage to receive their hard-earned diplomas. This momentous achievement commemorates years of hard work and commitment, signifying the end of an era and the beginning of another. Whether they are graduating from basic elementary education or earning their coveted bachelor’s degree, graduation rites open up a whole new world of opportunities for every student, paving the way for a brighter future and giving the students a chance to shape it with their own hands.
This significant milestone would not be possible without the hardworking support systems that form the foundational backbone of every student. The unyielding love and support from their families and loved ones and the tireless efforts of the faculty and staff in providing assistance during every step of their academic journey ensures that every student is fully prepared to face the world beyond the academe when their time to graduate comes.
This year’s graduation saw many familiar faces returning to the stage. The university welcomed back its brilliant alumni as graduation and baccalaureate speakers, imbuing the students with inspiration in their journey to attain their dreams and aspirations. UB welcomed Mr. Giovanni Bacayon Allawan, Mr, Joshua Angelo Mondares, and Ms. Joyce Barbachano as the speakers for the high school graduation ceremonies, while Dr. Sachiko Estreller, MCM (MO) served as the Science High School graduation speaker. The university also welcomed back Ms. Sally L. Banaken-Ullalim, CESO V, as the baccalaureate speaker for the college department.
The esteemed guest speakers all gave rousing speeches that touched on the foundational support that the university offers to its students, highlighting their role as future leaders and professionals in their respective fields. The presence of university alumni cemented the role of the graduates as pillars of the community, as contributors of positive change to society.
