Other Posts

January 18, 2025 – Hundreds of graduates gathered bright and early at the University of Baguio Cardinal’s Gym last Saturday to mark a significant milestone in their academic journey. The graduation ceremony, which takes place bi-annually at the beginning and end of the second semester, is a culmination of every student’s hard work and perseverance.

Like the baccalaureate rites, graduation ceremonies are an age-old tradition that dates back centuries. Many modern-day traditions can be traced back to olden universities across Europe and America, with several influences attributed to Islamic traditions. In the present, it serves as a formal conclusion of a student’s educational career, marking their transition from students to professionals. Beyond just rituals, graduation ceremonies serve as celebrations, allowing students to reflect on their journey thus far, take pride and confidence in their skills and capabilities, and look to the future with hope and determination.

This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support systems that serve as the cornerstone of every student’s journey. The steadfast love and encouragement from families and loved ones, combined with the dedication of faculty and staff who provide guidance and assistance at every step of their journey, ensure that the students are well-equipped to face the challenges and opportunities that await them beyond the academe.

Congratulations, Class of 2024! This day marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. As you step into the future, may you continue to carry with you the lessons, friendships, and memories that have built you into the competent and service-driven individual that you are today!
