Stand Strong, Give Life: UB gears up for Dugong UB

The University of Baguio, led by the School of Natural Sciences (SNS), will be holding its annual Dugong UB blood donation drive.

The event aims to serve the community by gathering valuable medical resources and encouraging members of the UB community to regularly participate in bloodletting for their health and well-being.

Why donate blood?

Regularly donating blood has the following benefits:

  • Improves overall cardiovascular health
  • Reduces the chance of heart attacks
  • Lowers the risk of stroke
  • Enhances the production of new blood cells
  • Lowers the risk of cancer

Additionally, donating blood ensures that local blood banks are able to support the needs of hospitals and their patients.

Apart from the blood donation drive, the event will also include Postural Assessment services.

Why get a postural assessment?

Getting a postural assessment has the following benefits:

  • Prevents musculoskeletal disorders
  • Improves circulation and breathing
  • Boosts confidence
  • Enhances organ function
  • Reduces workplace injuries
  • Increases flexibility and balance

A postural assessment can also help to construct personalized health plans that take one’s physical state into account.

The blood donation drive and the Postural Assessment services will open on February 28, 2025 at the ground floor of the Multilevel Parking Area (beside the Centennial Building). It will take place from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

See you there, UBians!
