The University of Baguio is an institution built on consistency. Countless measures are taken to ensure that the students are guaranteed the very best education that the university can provide, and it is of the utmost importance that this standard of excellence is upheld by all of the offices and schools present in the university.

In accordance with this, the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) takes care to conduct periodic assessments that ensure that management is upholding the mission, vision, and objectives of the university at all times. This month’s Mid-Year Assessment is one of the ways that the QAO is able to monitor the state of affairs within the university.

Guided by the Institutional Development Plan (IDP), which outlines the university’s goals from the year 2021 to 2025, the Mid-Year Assessment takes into account what the university’s offices and schools have achieved since the beginning of the school year. It was slated to take place after the first semester of Academic Year (AY) 2023-2024, and took place at the Centennial Hall.

In attendance were the esteemed members of the UB Management, who all sat down for a comprehensive breakdown of the objectives that were and were not attained over the course of the first half of the academic year. According to the QAO, this semester’s assessment yielded average results, with only several goals being unmet overall.

The QAO asserts that they will continue to monitor the progress of the university throughout the rest of the year to ensure that the year-end assessment will yield satisfactory results. As the university continues on its journey to provide quality education in a dynamic learning environment, it maintains a robust system of checks and balances that ensures that integral goals and objectives are steadily being met throughout every academic year.
