The UB community once again gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of its faculty and staff at this month’s flag ceremony, upholding its dedication to academic excellence and outstanding performance.
This month’s flag ceremony commemorated achievements received by the university in late March and in early April, highlighting institutional milestones in its ongoing journey to provide balanced quality education.
On March 28, 2025, UB was awarded a Plaque of Recognition for raising the standards of Cordillera Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment. The award was given by the Regional Gender and Development Committee (GAD) during the closing program for the celebration of National Women’s Month 2025. Dr. Froilan Aspa, the Director of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), received the honor at the DPWH-CAR Multi-purpose Hall.
Also present during the culminating ceremony were the UB Voices Chorale and one of the university’s ETEEAP graduates. They lent their talents for the invocation number and a special performance number, showcasing the talents of the UB student body and its alumni.

The School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (SCJPS) was also commended for producing a topnotcher in the Criminology Licensure Examination (CLE). The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), with the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology, presented their commendation on March 30, 2025 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
This recognition highlights the outstanding performance of the school in shaping the futures of its students, ensuring that they become ethical and service-driven individuals in their respective fields after they graduate.

Following this, on March 31, 2025 the university was given a Plaque of Commendation by the Local Government of Baguio City for its recent achievement in attaining ISO Certification. This occasion marked the community’s recognition of UB’s milestone as the first university in the Philippines to be officially ISO-Certified.
UB began its certification journey in 2023 and has made a concerted effort across all of its offices to refine its policies and services to achieve ISO standards. This acknowledgement reaffirms the university’s commitment to upholding international standards and ensuring that it provides the best learning opportunities and services for its students.

Rounding out this month’s awardees is the School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), which earned national recognition from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and was chosen as one of the awardees at the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Awards.
UB was among 120 of the top-performing institutions, highlighting the continuous pursuit of excellence that the university and its schools strive for. The award was received by the Dean, Dr. Aida Dapiawen, along with Dr. Dahlia Soriano, Dr. Elmer Eligio, and Dr. Julius Simon on April 2, 2025.
As the University of Baguio continues on its journey to be a world-class educational institution, these achievements will continue to commemorate the commitment of its Management Team, faculty, and staff to fostering academic integrity and innovation.
