The University of Baguio is dedicated to shaping graduates into effective communicators and service-oriented citizens, equipped to achieve their career aspirations both locally and globally. In line with this mission, the UB Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD) organized a hybrid mock interview for graduating college students with the theme “#Subscribed to the CCSD L-Series: Learning to Be.” This initiative took place from March 18–21, March 26–27, and April 4, 2025, featuring face-to-face panel interviews at the university premises and virtual interviews via Google Meet.

The activity aimed to further enhance students’ employability skills by simulating real-world job application processes, including document preparation and interview scenarios, which were discussed during the Pre-Employment Webinar last March 8, 2025, via Zoom. With this, the participants were tasked to prepare and submit a cover letter addressed to their preferred company or agency, a resume for private sector applications, and a Personal Data Sheet for government employment.  The activity was participated in by students from various schools.

For the whole activity, the submitted documents were checked based on their appropriate format, clarity, and conciseness on how well they convey the students’ intent and qualifications. In addition, the following were also rated: the participants’ adherence to proper attire and overall grooming was observed during their mock interview; their comprehension of questions asked, fluency in communicating their thoughts, and the depth of their responses. Feedback on the documents submitted, students’ physical appearance, self-management, and delivery and content of the interview questions were given before ending the interview session.  Through the #BeJobReady, UB continues its commitment to fostering career readiness among its students while preparing them for success in diverse professional environments.
