On May 9, 2025, the University of Baguio Center for Counseling and Student Development concluded its Placement Service with the Annual Job Fair held at the University of Baguio Cardinals Gym from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon. The event drew 588 UBian jobseekers, composed of graduating students, alumni, and senior high school students.

In partnership with government agencies, such as the Public Employment Service Office-Baguio (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR), the job fair achieved its primary objective to support the UBians in their career advancement by connecting them with potential employers and providing exposure to current job opportunities. Representatives from key government institutions – including the SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) – were also in attendance to extend their essential services. In addition, both new and partner private companies were also invited for on-site recruitment and career advising.

During the event, one participant was hired on the spot, 11 were classified as near-hired, and 146 UBians were deemed qualified for various positions. This asserted the event’s aim to bridge the gap between academic achievement and professional success. Notably, nine high school students from UB High School participated, receiving career guidance despite lacking professional licenses or qualifications.

More so, the job fair featured new company attendees for career advising, including Palawan Pawnshop, PRU Life UK, West Burnham Place Condominium, and the Bureau of Fire Protection, along with the existing partners. Engagement activates such as raffles added excitement and kept the energy high among the attendees.

This job fair reaffirmed the University of Baguio’s commitment to produce workforce-ready graduates and to foster strong ties with industry partners. With this, future fairs are expected to bring even broader opportunities to the UB community.
