Faculty and non-teaching staff alike sat down at the University of Baguio Centennial Library on September 16, 2023 for an enlightening workshop on writing activity write-ups and website articles.
The event was hosted by the Research Innovation and Community Outreach (RIECO) and aimed to impart integral knowledge on writing engaging web articles, with STELA instructor and former university publicist Mr. Benjamin Lasengan III and MIS web developer Mr. Edgar Allan Macatulad giving live and interactive instruction throughout the workshop’s duration.
The workshop also covered the basics of operating the WordPress-based university website and its search engine optimization, teaching attendees how to properly format and visually structure articles as well as how to raise the visibility of articles on the internet.
Attendees all gained valuable firsthand information on developing the website as content writers, facilitating the continuous growth of the platform as an informative and accessible means to learn about the university, its many schools and programs, and the events that they host and participate in.
As an institution dedicated to nurturing lifelong learning, the workshop was an enriching experience for the participants, serving as a new stepping stone of growth for the workforce of the university as they continue on to become contributors in boosting the university’s online presence.
