UB outbound students share learnings and insights from Thailand Exchange Programs through LNK Post Conference

Linkages Office recently conducted a post-conference session with outbound students from the School of Natural Sciences (SNS), School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (SCJPS), and School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), who participated in international academic mobility programs in Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) and Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand on April 28, 2025 at F209.

A total of 35 students (SNS – 20, SCJPS – 5, STELA – 10) and one faculty from SCJPS joined the outbound program. Students shared that their travel and arrival in Thailand went smoothly. From check-in to immigration, the journey was hassle-free. They were warmly welcomed by their host institutions and quickly settled into their accommodations, allowing them to focus on academic and cultural immersion.

Participants from the three schools described the experience as enriching and eye-opening. SCJPS students appreciated the exposure to advanced learning environments and facilities, including unique opportunities that enhanced their practical knowledge. SNS students found the laboratories, equipment, and supplementary coursework to be highly beneficial in reinforcing their academic foundation.

STELA students, who stayed for two months at KKU, highlighted the diversity of classes and the immersive learning opportunities that broadened their perspectives and strengthened their adaptability in international academic settings.

Across all groups, students expressed that the knowledge and training they received at UB allowed them to confidently engage in discussions and activities abroad, affirming the university’s strong academic preparation.

Students also offered thoughtful suggestions to further enhance future outbound programs. These included refining schedules, strengthening communication during the pre-departure orientation, and offering additional materials to help maximize their stay abroad. There was also a call for continued collaboration with partner institutions to ensure smooth academic transitions and meaningful cross-cultural exchange.

As a way forward, the University of Baguio will continue refining its mobility initiatives to provide even more impactful global learning experiences for its students. Narrative reports and creative outputs from the participating students will be showcased to inspire future batches and celebrate the global spirit of UB.
