SIHTM Gears Up Students for International Internship through PDOS

Other Posts

In the pursuit of excellence, the University of Baguio is committed to ensuring that its students are fully equipped and skilled enough to handle the professional demands of their fourth-year internship.

Especially when it comes to international internships, the preparations are rigorous and comprehensive. The students are trained within the university to match up to industry standards from around the world, building up the integral skills needed to keep afloat in a competitive professional field. The university also takes care to brief the students on matters beyond the classroom; processing their visas and how to prepare luggage for the long trip abroad are only some of the topics touched on during the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) recently held by the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (SIHTM).

The PDOS is an initiative from the SIHTM to ensure that their students are fully prepared to face the challenges posed by their international deployment. Alongside their guardians, the students sat down for an informative session with SIHTM Dean Jenelyn Magpatoc, who discussed at length the preparations the students must make before they are set to travel abroad and work.

The university prides itself on being able to train competent students who are able to hold their own no matter where they are deployed. Being able to hold seminars like the PDOS is integral to ensuring that the students are fully capable of facing the eventualities that come with every circumstance, whether they are locally deployed or internationally deployed. As the world embraces the new normal and more students are exposed to opportunities that take them outside of the country, the SIHTM continues to ensure that the students are capable of facing the challenges in their path.
