The University of Baguio (UB) has published a textbook on the basic French vocabulary and grammar.

The textbook, authored by Chantal Michaut–Pangilinan, a faculty member of the UB School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, covers lessons on the fundamentals of French grammar and pronunciation. Specifically written for an Asian audience, the lessons are presented through discussions and illustrations of the French culture and the people. A test is included at the end of each section.

An audio version of the textbook, which highlights basic French pronunciation, is likewise included.

Says Michaut–Pangilinan, a French herself, “The acquisition of a foreign language combined with a deep appreciation of cultural differences and similarities are necessary to foster better understanding among nations.”

The book, edited by Marie Françoise Vignaud, sells at ₱850.00 and is available starting July 1.
