Tourism students from different colleges and universities in the Philippines gathered at the University of Baguio (UB) last February for the 7th National League of Tourism Students of the Philippines Skills Olympics.

For seven years now, UB has spearheaded the event, which aims to showcase the industry-related knowledge and skills of the student participants as well as develop their communication and interpersonal skills while instilling the value of sportsmanship among them. More importantly, the activity is organized to promote and strengthen cooperation and camaraderie among the participating hospitality and tourism institutions, faculty members and students.

The competition covered 15 events. One of the highlights of the event was the Search for Mr. and Ms. League of Tourism Students of the Philippines.

Personalities and experts in the tourism and hospitality industry and in the academe served as judges in the different categories.

The Lyceum of the Philippines University was hailed as the over-all champion while Far Eastern University and St. Anne Colleges Lucena, Inc. placed as first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively. –Jessel Joy Rufin
