In coordination with the non-government organization Cordillera Conservation Trust, the University of Baguio (UB) conducted a homestay training in Kibungan, Benguet last Sept. 23.
During the activity, the concept of sustainable tourism was discussed. Ideas on how to develop the place as a possible tourist destination were discussed. “As you pursue your tourism, you should be able to preserve the area and maintain your inherent culture for the next generation,” the speaker noted.
The participants were also given recommendations on how to develop local business using available resources. The concept of social media marketing was likewise discussed. Practical skills in basic housekeeping were also shared with the participants.
Moreover, a lecture on environmental sanitation was included as part of the activity.
