UB participants win major spots in Pintig at Pantig Literary Awards

The University of Baguio (UB) picked up five first-place trophies at the Pintig at Pantig: The Mountain Collegian Literary Awards in Benguet State University (BSU) on Aug. 27.

 

 

Here’s a round-up of the awards won by the UB participants:

An estimated 450 elementary, high school and college students from around the region attended the event. Competitions on poetry writing, spoken poetry, and poster making were also included.

 

Pintig at Pantig is an annual literary and creative event which “celebrates the youth’s capability to recognize the beauty and responsibility of creative writing.” Organized by The Mountain Collegian, the official student publication of BSU, it seeks to “empower the youth in promoting nationalism, cultural preservation and environmental restoration.

 

This year, which is its ninth, it had the theme “Metamorphosis: A New Perspective towards Change.”
