The University of Baguio (UB) registered its fourth championship win in the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Baguio-Benguet Chapter Accounting Quiz Bowl held at the Saint Louis University (SLU) Maryheights Campus AVR in Bakakeng on March 31.
UB’s Stephanie Solomon and Joel Locquiao teamed up to finish first, scoring 90 points against the second-place duo’s 69 points. Participants from the University of the Cordilleras clinched the second and third places.
The competition was also participated in by SLU.
Sponsored by Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. – the Philippines’ largest multidisciplinary professional services firm – as well as Review School of Accountancy and Nation’s Foremost CPA Review Center (NFCPAR), the activity was organized by PICPA Baguio-Benguet Chapter in partnership with the Government Association of Certified Public Accountants – Cordillera Chapter and the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice – Baguio-Benguet Chapter.
The winners received CPA review grants and books, medals, certificates and cash prizes. Specifically, Solomon and Locquiao were awarded a 100% review scholarship from NFCPAR.
UB has been dominating the event for the last three years. This year, it has shown its accounting supremacy as it yet again ruled the competition.
